Your thoughts on the Army Study of changing Military Training in order to reduce PTSD.

Squad Overmatch Study elements took the Army’s current “warrior skills” training and integrated it with “resilience and mental skills” training and “situational awareness skills” training to see how that might facilitate recognition, perception, and adaptation to combat stressors for Soldiers by simulating their effects under realistic combat conditions.

The mantra for military training is to “train as you fight.” Warfighters don’t just fight with warrior skills. They are put in harm’s way in places and environments that offer equal challenges to their situational awareness and mental resilience skills. Shouldn’t that be how they train as well?
