Thank you for the thoughtful posting today SSG Carlos Madden . I am a Red Cross Disaster responder and every time I respond to the loss of a home to a fire, flood or natural disaster I am reminded again how lucky I am. This is a great time of year to reach out and do something for others; if you have funds to make a donation or offer some sweat equity to an organization if you can.
Regardless, I wish all a joyful, peaceful holiday season and may that follow us into 2025.

Yes I gave back, I worked as a Volunteer Veteran Service Officer for the VVA, and not only on Vietnam veterans but also on veterans from all backgrounds and times during their service.

I have been financially supporting Tunnel to Towers for the same reason: a place called home with accommodations the veteran needs. Praise God for all of the options we veterans have in the nation we signed up to protect and defend.

Excellent post. Definitely find that having connection with nonprofits benefits not just the Veteran, but also the organization and the community altogether. Even though working for the nonprofit doesn't guarantee pay, yet gives a Veteran a new sense of purpose after service, builds skillset, and gives Veterans the means to see where they want to be over running automated in the civilian world.
