An excellent treatise on leadership and love. If you love them, most will love you back and do almost anything you ask of them which is why I work with veterans via the Red Cross. I can reach out in love and respect.

Nice thoughts in regards to MLK and his leadership, to include military leadership. He was an incredible man and leader. He developed his campaign plan in a hostile society. Doctrine is the overarching approach to endeavors, and strategy and tactics support the doctrine. As a former army aviation and armor soldier, I too subscribed to love as the essential building block to relationships and organizations. I wanted the soldiers to understand I would go to hell and back with them, and I cared about them and their families. On the battlefield we rely on tactical prowess, winning spirit, and a sense of love for each other to perform our best.

Great comments to share. With respect to leadership there is no difference between leadership and military leadership. Many think of them as somehow different but the qualities that make person a good leader are the same. Dr. King was a good example as a leader we could all follow.

You must be a good leader in your own right or you would not be an officer wearing the uniform of our country.
