Sir:

What is the current mission in Afghanistan? I know when we went in there in 2001, it was to expel the Taliban. THAT mission has been accomplished.

What are the reasonable, measurable benchmarks of success?

At what point do we realize/admit that we are accomplishing nothing there (except lining the pockets of the corrupt Afghan government that has no real power outside Kabul)?

Failing real answers for those questions, how long will we be sending US Military personnel there to be shot at, maimed, and killed for no real reason?

Yes, I have been there (and Iraq as well).

I would ask him - Once the House has voted to impeach President Clinton, how do you propose to get the 2/3 majority in the Senate to convict and remove her from office?

President bush was hated by the left because he put the military first. This president has no respect for any of us veterans.i honestly believe he wants to disband the US MILITARY and have the UN protect the USA

SPC Andrew Griffin - Again, it's only obstruction to you because your President didn't get everything he wanted. Every President in my lifetime has faced even more resistance in their final year, as the other side sees a potential light at the end of the tunnel. As I've stated time and time again, the GOP tried to work with him and he kept moving the goal posts (especially at the last second). Don't for one second try to suggest the President is completely innocent of playing bad politics. No one in the GOP cares that he's Black or White. He's a Democrat pushing for a liberal agenda (it's that simple). The GOP does not subscribe to that agenda, nor should they be subjected to extortion by claiming its a racist issue. Clinton got far more push back when it came to the budget resulting in actually shutting the government down. Obama never saw it go that far.

I too am proud of the fact we as a nation elected our first ever Black President. It's a great achievement to be proud of! But that doesn't make me have to like the President's agenda or his political antics. To call me or the GOP racist for disagreeing with him and pushing back for a more conservative agenda is in fact racist. Using that word carries a huge meaning and I believe it's used WAY too liberally (if you don't mind the pun). Here's the problem... most of the people who love President Obama, can't ever get themselves to believe that the GOP is proud of the fact we've been able to achieve this step of electing a Black President. In fact I would say they are probably more jealous they never got there first than anything. But electing a new President from a different race, religion, sex or sexual persuasion should NEVER suggest that person should be treated differently with regards to the left vs right politics. President Obama has faced nothing more than what ANY other President has endured.

SPC Andrew Griffin - That does not explain or excuse his failure to meet with the leaders or both chambers for all of that time after he took office. If their is an explanation it is that the president is just as guilty of obstruction as the members of congress.

How do you anticipate the future will go with a President Trump or a President Clinton? How will the House and the Senate ensure they are able to do what is best for all Americans under either presidency?

Mitch McConnell My very serious question is this; do any of our ELECTED employees of the people, otherwise referred to as our "representatives", actually care what the people think, want, or need? Each year it is getting more difficult to tell Republicans from Democrats, or is there an actual difference anymore and does it really matter as it is the citizens of this great country who are what is important?
When are you and the rest of the elected officials going to start actually representing the people who voted you into office?
I do believe, Sir, that you are a good example of why we need term limits in all elected offices. How long you are in a job is not near as important as how well you DO that job!
Thank you

I also would like to add that these A--Holes are so afraid of TRUMP that they are trying everything to remove him. I am sure that there will be a revolution if KILLARY is elected and Kerry and other minnos stay.

SPC Tanya Cummings Boozer - I am being denied by the VA MEDICAL CENTER IN ERIE PA AND BY THE VETERANS HEALTH ADMINISTRATION TO HAVE THE ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURE BLOCK CHECKED ON MY VA ELECTRONIC MEDICAL RECORD CORRECTLY as a agent orange herbicides directly exposed veteran. I am currently 100% totally and permanently disabled from Agent orange herbicides by the Veterans benefits administration. The VA AND VHA NEED TO CHANGE THEIR TWO PAGE GUIDANCE ON THE ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURE BLOCK .

Sir,
I believe it is time for you to retire. Since moving to Kentucky in 1986, you have been a near constant discussion in my family. However, I can not think of a meaningful contribution you have made to the State, The Republican Party, or my family. If you do not stand by the Farmers that elected you, or make aggressive moves to protect the Soldiers of this country . . . . . then we have nothing in common.

Why do State Representatives need to leave their state to vote on bills in DC when we have the capabilities of networking and to holding secure satellite meetings and conferences now. This seems like a waste of tax payer dollars for travel and lodging and often reps are not out there in their communities, where they belong. Often these individuals are with larger companies doing fund raising and being tempted by lobbyist and not reading and thinking through the Billions of dollars that are being spent in the bills they are voting on.

Do you believe this is a capability or way of doing business that would be good for D.C. and the nation of tax payers they represent?

Until recently I never perceived you as an 'obstructionist' in that you are arm in arm with the likes of Sen Cruz and seemingly refuse to compromise with the liberals on anything for purely ideological reasons. If this is not so, the press have done well to characterize you as such. Is it too soon tosee any greater compromise with liberals after the next election and in what areas or on what issues?

Senator,
By some accounts, general productivity of recent Congresses have been consistently at the lower range of the spectrum.

Now, the presumptive Presidential Candidate Nominees are thought to be two of the least popular candidates, perhaps in history.

What can be done to restore confidence in our government. I fear that regardless of which candidate becomes the next POTUS, the cycle of issues that have plagued our government will continue.

SSG Trevor S. - I hear you Trevor, but in my mind, compromised, career politicians like the Senator have already given away the debate. The military and country as a whole is suffering and the enemy within (modern democrat party) is not fighting like gentlemen. If you don't feel the urgency and believe fighting like a gentlemen will get you further than it did the Red Coats in the Revolutionary War, then that is your decision, but I am done with the likes of Senator McConnell!

I have to say, I am disappointed, but not surprised by "the turtle's" response. He neatly sidestepped my question and shifted all the blame on POTUS. Way to go Senator!

My answer is as close to lack of respect as I will get on here...I just wish he did not just throw us the same old party line. This is why anti-establishment candidates are popular and why we are *this* close to having a lunatic with his finger on the nuclear trigger.
