We *REALLY* need to keep an eye on this guy. The story does a good job of covering his past (and his family) but they kinda glossed over one thing. When we invaded he led the ‘Mahdi Army’... yeah, we killed ‘em like cockroaches but that’s NOT THE POINT.
The Mahdi is the leader of the end times...

Not wanting to be a self-panicker but they believe!
Iran is waiting for the end-of-times and some folks believe THIS IS THE DUDE!
Obviously not all... but the last time someone claiming to be the Mahdi showed up folks died in droves.

That is why Iran wants a nuclear bomb to jump start the end of times or prime the pump to make sure it happens. The president of Iran has said and pass interviews this is kind of like a Muslim version of the prince of peace and not the Prince of Darkness but part of that would entail destroying Israel which is what the Arabians at the very top believe in. I think for them to have their Muslim Rapture and wish that Muhammad would come back at the end of the world are just foolish. Either way, Israel has nuclears tipped cruise missiles on their diesel electric Subs rate of fire in a moment's notice if Iran tries to prime the pump and force an apocalypse which would justify the return of the Hidden Imam.
