If the Dems were familiar with warfare, they would have looked at a map before embarking on this fool's crusade. The conclusion was baked in the cake, since the numbers in the Senate and political realities in the House were known quantities.

Problem was, they told their stories so many times they convinced themselves they were true.

Problem continues to be that so many of those stories were complete and utter bullshit that even charges that may have merit fail to convince anyone because they've cried wolf too many times.

Problem going forward is that in the quest for "orange man bad", they've lost track of why people sent them to Washington in the first place, and the messages of their candidates to replace Trump have been drowned out.

Yeah. Everyone who testified did so under oath and lied, putting their careers and freedom in peril...that makes complete sense.

SPC (Join to see) - I didn't say that at all. What I said was that when you beat the drum for three years on meritless charges and you finally hit the jackpot on something that has merit, no one is convinced that this time it is real because you expended all of your credibility on baseless charges.
The Dems have made their bed, and now need to sleep in it.

My guess is that they are going to fold on this pair of 3s they are holding, and hold a censure vote and claim "victory" rather than hope the 3 of clubs comes off on the River.
...but I've been wrong before.,

I fail to see it as being a pair of 3s. Rather, from the damning testimony, it is, if nothing else, proof of abuse of power.

Impeachment will get through the house. It will then reach the senate, where his allies will repeat conspiracy theories, ignore the evidence, and exonerate him.

Both sides will then claim victory (and victimhood) going into the election.

Just my prediction

SPC (Join to see) - We will revisit this in a month or so, then.
I just don't see much in the way of political courage emanating from DC, from either side of the aisle.
As always, the easier answer to do nothing usually wins in situations such as this.

Are you reading Huffpost or Politico, Top??? The media continues to effectively move the goalposts. Polls in recent weeks showed a decline of independent support for the investigation. Polls have repeatedly shown that Democrats and Republicans are standing their ground to back and oppose the inquiry, respectively. There was a tepid 4-point jump from last week's poll, but this is part of the see-saw effect driven by the spin from CNN, ABC, CBS, MSNBC, NBC, the WaPo, NY Times, and the various lefty media outlets working in concert with the current DNC talking points. It's pretty fluid for now.

SSG William Jones - There has been a slight decline but nothing that could be called cratering. I was objecting to the hype
