There many unspoken issues relative to retirement? Medicare, Social Security, Financial Planning, Taxes and Health Care! Should our Government do more about this? What's your comments about this?

I think your retirement is your responsibility. Social Security is part of the picture, but only part. If you are not saving and planning your retirement, you are wrong.
I think health care should be paid for by the consumer, with health insurance covering devastating injuries or illnesses over a certain amount. Health insurance costs a fortune because some regulator somewhere decided it should cover everything, while insurance companies have every incentive in the world to try and find ways to deny coverage when it is really needed. That is largely why this cockamamie Medicare for All proposal gets any traction whatsoever. Never mind that it costs over $3 Trillion dollars annually and would double the federal budget.
I think that Social Security and Medicare need reform in order to remain solvent. And the best way to do so is to eliminate the ceiling for payroll taxes and look very hard at both Medicare and Social Security Disability Insurance fraud, which are both rampant.

Government officials hate talking about these things, because they are thorny issues that get refomers vilified.

SFC David Reid, M.S, PHR, SHRM-CP, DTM The VA needs to do a cranial extraction, and the other social programs need to do the same thing.

SP6 Guy Slater I don't think you had "Air Force" in your comment. I was only stating that I was Air Force and was "Medically Retired" as you were. I apologize if my statement caused any confusion. I wish you the best in all your endeavors. I wish all our Brothers and Sisters get the medical and financial aid that they all deserve.
Especially those of us who are Service Connected Disabled. Not that any others who have served with Honor Don't deserve the same aid, just wish those that need the help could get it without having to go through so much Crap! We Served, we should be able to receive the best service from our government, just like we gave to our particular Brach of Military.

Thanks Marcus, but I'm old. And I confuse easily. I'm reading your post where you said "Air Force," but it is my name in the big print, and I thought I wrote it. Good to laugh at myself sometimes.
