The Affordable Care Act (ACA) was intended, on its face, to establish universal health care for all in the USA, my friend Lt Col Charlie Brown
I was terminated from my position at LMI as the ACA was implemented in the summer of 2013 [after 20 years] on the basis of my disabilities which limited my ability to work [travel, climb stairs, etc.]. I don't fault LMI but I do fault those who passed the ACA.

That wasn't 'real' universal healthcare.

My complaint is that Obamacare, along with dreams of universal healthcare or any other Socialist scheme, does little or nothing to come up with additional healthcare workers to meet the needs of newly eligible folks. When was the last time you heard about doctors and nurses sitting around like the Maytrag Repairman with nothing to do?

SGT Cynthia Douglas Ybarra - I so much prefer VA healthcare over civilians providers. At 71 years of age, still my only health issues are residuals of gunshot and shrapnel wounds. At VA when you point to an old wound and say it's bothering you, they know what it is and what the problem might be. Try that with a civilian clinician and they get that pig staring and a wristwatch look on their face.
