About

This forum should be an open source exchange that is much easier to use than MilSuite and other places where we think our cohort resides. The group should primarily focus on Training, Techniques and Procedures we are all learning on the fly. There are folks already in the group who have been there and done that, got the t-shirt. As we serve, we should assist those in our footsteps on the way forward. All of us have encountered things such as prejudice in being appointed and we have all been utilized in different ways. Let's share and build this team called CCWO.

Advice on how to prepare for this position

This is only one perspective and opinion, but joining the team from the standpoint of a Combat Aviation Brigade versus a regimental or branch CCWO is probably very different. Hopefully we can use this forum as a way to discuss open source advice and perspectives, but I can tell you 100% that we/I are not trained in the realm of what we think the position entails. I recommend doing the Brigade Pre-Command Courses required by AR 350-1 and both phases. I can honestly say that my eyes were opened to programs and the way our bosses think when we are not usually with them. The relationships you build while attending seriously assist you in something you most likely were not privy to. More to follow as we grow and share here!
