Courage!
For Mr. Kaleka to reach out to a man who at one time hated because of ignorance and fear and who now knows he has been wrong and is working to correct the errors of his ways is - powerful. And powerful on so many levels!
It is encouraging to know the human spirit has the unbridled capacity to grow beyond its former self into a new and much better self. It is unfortunate that while this comes from NBC News online that in the "raging TV media" it was not a story from the talking-heads!!!
Just saying...................

For those of who live in Wisconsin, this shook us badly. We never thought we would see this type of event in our state. Conservative WTMJ Radio host Steve Scaffidi was the mayor of Oak Creek for about 3 months when this occurred. He talks about this often about this time every year. The shooting has had a lifetime effect on him. Of the Sikh people, he has developed a love and admiration of these peace loving, optimistic people. As a gunner owner, he has expressed his disappointment in our seeming lack of desire to seriously seek solutions to reduce violence.
