10th Mountain Division returns to Colorado

I wondered why they were called a Mountain division. Now I know.

For decades the 10th Mountain Division has been stationed at Fort Drum, New York – the flatest terrain in New York State. I seem to remember that one unit of the division was at Fort Polk, Louisiana, again mountainless.
