Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebrates 30th Anniversary

ATLANTA (AP) — The King Center in Atlanta is set to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Martin Luther King Jr. federal holiday Monday at Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Today is Rev. Martin Luther King's Birthday. Why is it not celebrated as much as Columbus Day, George Washington's birthday, Labor Day, etc. I havent heard one advertisement about Martin Luther King birthday sales. Although I hate sales days for Federal Holidays, why isn't there one for MLK Day?
Well today I'll celebrate it as it should be. Happy Birthday Marting Luther King Jr. You were a great leader of peace, and made a significant mark on discrimination. Thank you for your service to our country through your beliefs, prayers, and trusting in God. You changed many lives.

When I lived in NY working as an EMT I had a pick-up at JFK while I was waiting for my Pt I started speaking with a woman who was standing by one of the windows.
We talked for about 10 mins before we introduced ourselves to each other, I told her my name and then she told me hers and I almost fell over because I was talking with Mrs. Martin Luther King. We probably talked about another 20 minutes, I was in complete awe. How strong she was with everything she has gone through in her life. She told me then to never settle for anything ever, to always stand up for myself and be the strong woman that I am.
