43 years ago to this month, the first group of Vietnam POWs who were tortured daily, walked upright as they deplaned at Clark Air Force Base. May they be blessed by good spirits as they lived in hell.

Was do to deploy the next day on the USS Coral Sea. The deployment was cancelled. I had several shipmates gain there freedom that day. I will never forget watching ever second of the release on TV.

My heart was filled with joy. Two of the POWs road my ejection seat when there aircraft was shot down. I just wish the war had turned out better.

I ran phone patch calls home for a bunch of them while they were on board the MAC Airevac C141s enroute to Clark. Best thing I've ever been involved in.
