Read the book Yeager! He talks about Neil Armstrong and other personalities that may or may not be to your liking but he was also lucky to have flown in combat. All pilots who were shot down over German occupied France and made it to safety were not allowed to fly again but he wrote Gen. LeMay and was allowed to fly again. So many great things in his book!

The book was very good. I learned a lot in it. But I believe he had to see Ike to go back in combat during WW2. Also wasn't he the first to move a fighter wing to another location!

Thanks for honoring USAF legend Charles Elwood “Chuck” Yeager SP5 Mark Kuzinski
His nonchalant attitude to being a test pilot may well have influenced Evel Knievel.

He had 20/15 vision too. He was a smart hillbilly and he made up for his lack of education early in his career by attention to detail and reading and testing everything he flew before he got off of the ground too!
