I read the article. It appears, the Lords army was mostly uneducated and thuggish. Lacking in committed ideology.
Will it work against an organized and articulate belief system?
It will be tough to crack those who grow up inside a political and religious system of hate and death.

Off Topic: IMO, you are a good an Honorable man. It shows in your word choice and tone of writing. I write the following not to upset you as America needs men like you.
But, you are too nice and you are not mean enough in your heart and views to defeat the enemy. They will laugh at your kindness and hopefullness.

Just got back early Sunday morning from Europe and weeks spent out looking for battlefields of 1848-49 in northern Italy. Looking to change the world ... or maybe just a small part of it by reminding some folks that it is their dead still there that they forgot.

Note the cannon balls still in the walls -- Piedmont was firing too light artillery to be effective on buildings that were thick walled. Should have concentrated it elsewhere.. maybe they would have been effective in starving off the massive defeat of Novara.
