Kansas to move more than 100 psychiatric hospital patients
The state of Kansas is moving more than 100 mental health inmates from a state psychiatric hospital in Topeka to facilities run by multiple agencies in an effort to relieve a staffing shortage.

A number of states have closed State mental hospitals, said they would instead have community based treatment. Well the reality is that is just not the case, they instead are homeless and wandering the streets and they are not ok. One area town had 35 of them living under a railroad bridge not too long ago. In the state Hospital at least they were fed and clothed and given care. In the streets ? nothing for them unless they commit a crime. Pretty much a failure on providing for these people that needed this help and keeping them and us all safe.
