I don't like the idea of creating special rules for special people. We should all be treated equally under the law.

I think that the fear of the cops (at least the bully ones) is that the shield would protect them and allow them to do what they wanted without being touched. It is sad that everything has come to this. I pray for peace on earth someday...but it will only come when we start practicing compassion and stop living in fear and drop these labels society has put on us. When we get tired....change will happen.

SSG Stephan Pendarvis - The bully cops need to be dealt with and not by killing them as has been happening. And the same goes for cops who try to get away with murder.

Well...anytime one group targets another group...I'd say that is a hate crime...because they "hate" that group. But if that group started the hate first by targeting that group first...then I'd say that the targeted group may have started it...but...then maybe the other group started by either being black or being criminals.

I'm sure that will help. In answer to your last question, "hate crimes" are already redundant. Criminal statutes are in place to punish all guilty of what would be called hate crimes. This just gives big brother a reason to get involved in local and state law enforcement activities. However, I do feel there should be Federal Laws that are far more severe for those that we refer to as first responders.
