The problem goes deep and pretty far back. What is needed is for leaders and elders to understand that there are problems in how Islam is being practiced, and teach their followers that. If a young Muslim like myself were to present evidence, a usual comment would be something like "you're too young to understand this is practiced for years", or "don't nitpick to justify how you live your life", or even "don't question God". It unfortunately doesn't work. So what I usually do is target the Muslim youth in hopes that the older generation "die out" with their old times and the younger Muslims grow up to be more "civilized".

SrA Edward Vong ah yes, the dismissive arrogance and inflexibility of the old versus the fresh perspectives and insights of youth--of which I, too, am often guilty. It took over 200 years for the old British admiralty to mandate that all her majesty's ships stock citrus fruits specifically to prevent scurvy amongst crewmembers, and about as long for handwashing to be accepted by the medical community as a preventative measure against childbirth fever. Keep up your good works with the youth where hope resides fresh.

I was talking to my mechanic at work who is a Sunni Muslim and he was totally shocked when I told him that Saudi Arabia Sunni Foster's Wahabi fundamentalism that is spread worldwide in mosques and madrassas like in Afghanistan. He is a mainstream Muslim like you but he was unaware of the narrative that is pushed out which uses wahhabism and Sharia law. The Saudi Arabian government is our Ally but they also have their clerics push their agenda which conflict with Western standards. The mayor is right. Mainstream Muslims like you are being attacked worldwide by both Hezbollah Isis and the Taliban. They cannot stand moderate and modern Islam.

Pretty much. They aren't going to force you to participate in a Sharia court any more than the Jews are going to force you to participate in a Beth Din court.

I don't agree with Sharia law and in my opinion it is not the same as the others and it has no place in the USA... can we agree to disagree... thank you

I responded to SrA Edward Vong, not you. You stating that you aren't going to debate this is fine, but it does not mean that it is the end of my discussion of the issue with others. I am free to talk to anyone that I wish about the issue of religious bigotry and religious discrimination. All you have to do to be out of the conversation is to not respond to my discussions with others.

SSG (Join to see) imagine moving to any other country and demanding the locals cater to American law? We've had some military members cooling their heels in Mexican prisons for expecting American laws to cross borders with them.

The quicker the better !! Now if any like our SrA Edward Vong wants into this country then I'm more than willing to help build his house on my days off. But these Shariah law types need a fast plane ticket half way across the Atlantic. No love for for the latter.
