You lost me at Semi-auto assault weapons, then made for combat and then with the Hunting comparison. Just to belabor these three mentioned fallacies yet again. 1) No such thing as a semi auto assault weapon. 2) AR 15's are not made for combat, please site what army uses Semi auto AR 15'ss for Infantrymen.3) The Second Amendment was NEVER about HUNTING. The NRA of which I am not a member is made up of many hundreds of thousands of individuals that do not want OUR rights taken away, modified to make liberal panty wetters happy. More stupid laws that only effect LAW ABIDING citizens will never work with criminals and terrorist, how hard is that to understand. Murder is against the law but guess what folks still get murdered. We are doing nothing to protect them because its an individual responsibility. Its these lame federal and state laws that take away our rights for self defense.
What exactly should the NRA do? Its that lame liberal ass wipes that create GUN FREE zones which nut cases, terrorists and criminals use to their advantage. The OP ed for bumbling Barry is true, his failure at leadership and weak stance have made us all a target.

1SG Dennis Hicks, SGM Billy Herrington, I don't know what you both have stuck up your butt, but I was a soldier before you even thought about it. I don't care if the M-16 or AR-15 aren't the same weapon. If you were serious about your so called knowledge, you would know that was 50+ years ago for me. I haven't kept up with the new weapons used in combat. Mine was the M-16, the M-60, and my M-79. I would think you both would show me more respect, since I came before you and what happened to us doesn't happen to you because of us. I have nothing more to write to either of you. You aren't worth the effort I just expended on you.

SMSgt Jeff Samuelson - I focus on the term assault in order to play the word game back with those who label something for one, incorrectly, and secondly, for fear mongering. I'm illustrating the point that it's all a word game and words do have meanings.

Hence, why I used high capacity magazines, assault, shoulder thingy that goes up. All examples of word games played by anti politicians. I was merely point this out as it has been inculcated for decades with the main stream media and it is affecting those who are not as knowledgable as others with regards to firearms.

I thought the manner in which I deleted the statements alluded to my sarcasm and battling he word game by debunking the false definitions.

It seems SGT Bodine doesn't like the truth, Nothing stuck up my but but thanks for asking, You being a Soldier before anyone means nothing, When you spout knowledge do a fact check first. Respect is earned and not for those who can not control their temper tantrums and thrown out insults when questioned. 6 Years and only a buck SGT eh? run away when questioned and block folks sounds about right, Bye, bye.

Sounds like the stick was reversed. I was just simply pointing out the war on words used in main stream media that are patently incorrect. I wasn't "attacking" you in any way. I was trying to provide a perspective that you maybe didn't know or hadn't heard yet.

You not caring that the M16 and AR 15 aren't same weapon shows you're not interested in learning or knowing the fact. You choose to sully yourself in your own foxhole and fling grenades at those who desire to help those who are uninformed. The fact that you were a soldier before me, while noble during your time of service, means very little to me with regard to correct someone who is spouting off fallacy.

So, if you must take your ball and go home so be it. I actually was serious when I said I enjoy your other postings. Your candor, wit, and knowledge are something I can identify with and appreciate.

the NRA was smart to stay silent. any peep from the NRA would be followed by whack job left wing progressive attacks for saying anything and they (NRA) would be blamed

OK...so where exactly is the blame? NRA?....not really, ISLAM?....a large amount, individual pulling the trigger....YES! People seem to forget, that it was the act of one single man that killed all of these innocent people while they were enjoying being out on the town. The Club for whatever reason will live in infamy as the "The Gay Night Club," was that the actual name of this place, or does it actually have a real name? So the individual that pulled the trigger, purchased weapons legally, so did the school shooters mother (which by the way the shooter killed in cold blood), the movie theater shooter, and the weapons that the Columbine shooters had were purchased legally.

It has nothing to do with how they were purchased. Could the FBI have put a Red Flag on this gentleman's name for when it came to back ground checks for weapons purchases? Sure could have. What would this have done, well the FBI investigated this guy for 10 months, close the case, and all of a sudden a couple of years down the road, he purchases weapons......ding...ding...ding, Red Flag. Maybe we should see what he is up to these days.

So he scoped out a gay dating site, went to the club a couple of times, he knew what he was doing. Guess what, at that point, there was nothing going to stop him. Answer me this, and trust me I have not been to a "Club" per se in...decades. Do they still have people at the front door to check patrons?

So to make this comment, short...stop blaming the NRA, Stop Blaming the people who sell weapons legally, and start blaming, the individuals that actually put finger to trigger. These are the people that are to blame. You can even stop blaming the people for the way they want to live their lives.

Remember, 1 life will at the minimum affect 10 lives, and then it spiders from there.

Ok...all done now. Half Nickel of the Day.

SSG Keith Cashion, Of course you realize I didn't blame the shootings on the NRA. I wasn't even asking if there is anyone to blame. I'm getting tired of explaining this, but, I was curious if the NRA had made any comment concerning the deaths and the families. The NRA blamed Obama, Obama blamed it on weapons, Obama blamed Donald Trump for what his response was. Donald Trump blamed Islam and the fact that the shooters father was an ISIS sympathizer. The father blamed it on America's hatred of Muslims. And so, on, and on, Yada, Yada, Yada. I blame it on the shooter for his hatred against the LGBT community.

SGT (Join to see) - Keith, I know where you were coming from. I was just looking at this post and the compilation of all the others playing the blame game in every direction, but the correct one.

Keith you have a great day.
