That is good news SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL that "Master Sgt. Jeffrey Gassaway was told he’d earned the Soldier’s Medal for his efforts to save a young woman trapped in a flaming car"
I remember after I was mobilized after 9-11-2001 I went to the Special Operations Conference in 2002 where a Navy SEAL Lt CDR was presented with the Navy version of the soldier's medal because he held up a collapsing I beam in the Navy Operations Center in the Pentagon on 9-11-2001 long enough to let everyone escape from the collapsing area.

Wow! My Guys ran in the wires to that operations center in the late 80's. Hard to imagine all our work gone along with some of the operators of those terminals.

Sad Story but it does Highlight the Military Mentality, Leaders by Default. Soldiers jumping in an taking action just because it was necessary. What made me Proud to wear a Uniform was folks like Master Sgt. Jeffrey Gassaway & Spc. Benjamin Rogers
