OPPRESSION:
the exercise of authority or power in a burdensome, cruel, or unjust manner.
the act of subjugating by cruelty, force, etc or the state of being subjugated in this way.

So let me get this straight...They feel Blacks are being oppressed by Police, right? So by taking a knee and disrespecting your country and or flag is going to do what exactly???How is this helping oppression? Okay, so they are getting a whole hell of a lot of attention, but what is it accomplishing? ...other than Strife/discord/mayhem and disrespect....For all of you people who once again are going to tell me they have a right...I AM NOT SAYING THAT THEY DON'T have a right....I never said that and stop throwing that back at me as many did in another post just like this....GEEESSSHHHH>>>>
We are FREE....We are a free country....the whole reason we broke away from the OPPRESSING CROWN of ENGLAND was to come over and be Free....So we could have choices...and no longer be in and under the control of the IRON FIST of ENGLAND......

So let's take a look at the big picture....NOT all police are cruel...ONLY a Hand full...maybe less than 5%....which is very little, but in today's INSTANT media society, only the BAD seems to be put out there and made a big deal of....so it seems to be the only PREVALENT issue...then you have folks like this that do things like this and bring LOT of NEGATIVE attention to the subject. HOW IS THIS GOING TO HELP??? What exactly is this going to accomplish towards weeding out "BAD COPS?"

I have two boys...I love them very much and have talked about them here on RP...both are in Prison...that's right Prison...due to mostly DRUGS. My Kids are White...they have Hispanic and Black and Asian friends...they've all had brushes with the law...and some of them while drunk, evaded or resisted arrest and the cops had to get rough with them....it happens...and I live in the better part of the city, but even kids here and adults have their run in with the cops...and what I've come to the conclusion is...most cops are decent.....and in the not so good parts of the city and the bad parts, it can get even worse...and very violent.....But COPS see way more instances of violence/corruption/drugs and over all bad situations than ANY OF CAN EVER REALLY IMAGINE...and they do this on a daily basis....They get SPIT on, Kicked, punched, scratched, things thrown at them...people run and they have to chase them...all sorts of things...Unless you are a cop and trained to be one....you might think they are mean/rough/and or cruel in some instances... but it's how they have to be....and yes, there are a few...a hand full that take it way too far...
A lot of kids/adults resist arrest...or act stupid, then more force to restrain them...and people see this and think it's cruel...
So, I digress....back to taking a kneeling during the National Anthem and I ask once again...how is this really helping? It is NOT...it is only getting attention, but it's NOT DOING ANYTHING to change anything...there is NO ACCOMPLISHMENT in this act.
Go to your congressmen, your state senator, your representatives and write letters. Start a petition or a movement for Change...come up with a solution...put it in writing....give some ideas of what can be done to change things....WRITE it down and do something about it....Maybe the way cops are trained should be changed....or maybe the psychological testing should be amended to try and determine the state of mind of each individual for Violent tendencies...It could require a number of changes... BODY CAMERA'S are out....and EVERY POLICEMAN should be wearing one....and let's make it the responsibility of the cop to make sure it's working and if it's not while out on duty, they need to be fined, till they always make sure the camera works...Make sure ALL COP Cars and all POLICE vehicles and all EMERGENCY Vehicles i.e., Fire Trucks Ambulances etc......are equipped with cameras and different angles.....BUT SITTING DOWN...taking a KNEE at ballgames...is to me IN MY OPINION NOT THE ANSWER!

That's crap. The 60's are just around the corner. I'll just have to be more alert and continue carrying my pistol. That city councilman ought to be charged with attempted assault and abuse of authority. What a prick. Thanks Capt Seid Waddell.

SGT (Join to see), that's what happens when racism replaces rationality.
I agree that he should be arrested and charged with being an accessory before the fact in any attacks on the police.

The coach should be fired. The school is publicly funded. They can't pray, so get him out of there..

I do not think this 'fad' will last too long. It gets a lot of notoriety because people and the news agencies put the demonstration a forefront. The more you object the more it will happen.

If they truly object they should just stay in the locker room!!

Remember we fight and have fought for their right to do this no matter how objectionable or disrectful we may think it is.
