Just maybe these lazy, uncaring, assholes are one of the main reasons there are so many veteran suicide. If this thread doesn't make you mad as hell, I don't know what it will take to make you mad. This is rediculous.
WASHINGTON — More than one-third of calls to a suicide hotline for troubled veterans are not being answered by front-line staffers because of poor work habits and other problems at the Department of Veterans Affairs, according to the hotline's former director.
Some hotline workers handle fewer than five calls per day and leave before their shifts end, even as crisis calls have increased sharply in recent years, said Greg Hughes, the former director of the VA's Veterans Crisis Line. Hughes said in an internal email that some crisis line staffers "spend very little time on the phone or engaged in assigned productive activity." Coverage at the crisis line suffers "because we have staff who routinely request to leave early," he said.

Let me get brutally honest. Who in their right mind would actually trust most people there!!! Afterall, they go to a comfortable home and not left searching for a place to live. They act like they want tohelp, but all they want is to collect a check. And the recourse, go to the 9th floor, where you are basically incarcerated. Three days of neglect and this is what you get? Many do not even get counseling and people wonder why things suck and that ideations are real. The ones who actualy do care, leave. So here one goes again, more putting off of what ails a person. Enough for right now except to say, that the admins chatise the whistleblowers.

SSgt (Join to see), I still find it hard to believe that, knowing how many veteran suicides there are, they just leave. They don't care. They are small minded imbeciles. I hope something comes out about this and those idiots are fired.

I know, right. Just when you think they can't sink any lower, another unbelievable story comes out. My question is if the past supervisor knew about this, and didn't say anything, why is he just now coming out with it? He's as guilty as the current supervisor and his low life staff. All of them need to be kicked out of the system. Thanks Phil for your response.
