I've been hearing doomsday is right around the corner , since I was old enough to understand what it meant. If it comes, it comes. No matter how much food or weapons I buy, they won't stop it. These people have to be a brick shy of a load.
About the only things this surplus store doesn’t sell is tinfoil hats.
“Preppers” – as in “preparing for an apocalypse” – are an eerily steady part of the clientele at M&G, a military supply surplus store on Granby Street.
War, terrorist attacks, ominous calendar dates (remember Y2K?) — even elections — can spike their numbers. In between, they arrive in a reliable trickle: two or three customers a week looking for gas masks, chemical suits and food rations.

That is a damn shame. Even the show displayed how crazy these preppers were. Use shipping containers as a means to block entry into a funnel? Makes sense.....if you're deployed, or responding to a natural disaster. Folks buying up old missile silos in KS (the thought of that is realy cool until you get inside and it's flooded, stripped bare and stinks like hell) having them built underground to have a safe spot no one can get into. I'm gonna go prep too. Get some snickers, twinkies (LOTS of twinkies), gatoraide, beer, and a shitload of alcohol. Damn gotta bring the playboy collection, the porn stash, TV, laptop, handcrank radio and gummy bears. Yep gummy bears. If Armageddon ever came....the first thing I'd do is blow up Dallas stadium. There won't be a need for it or the cowboys. I hate the cowboys. Sorry Jerry, it's a billion dollar POS.
