I'm a retired Police Officer also, That lady did the right thing by calling the Police instead of getting into it with the white man that choked Her 7 year old. The response from the Officer was so out of line and that lady didn't do anything that She deserved to be arrested for. He never handled the subject of the original complaint call. As even the mother said if a small child did something that upset anyone, talk to Her don't just go out and choke Your child. No one there was upset with the Police Officer until His entire focus was on what little thing the child may or may not have done instead of the physical assault on Him by an Adult. I did watch the entire video and it seems the restraint the mother and others showed there was good. They responded only verbally which in view of the circumstances was a normal reaction in My opinion. I fully support Law Enforcement but that Officer made a bad situation out of something that was in control until He arrived. What about the man that choked the child ? seems He was never even spoken to or interviewed and once that report of the assault was made that should have been one of the first things that Officer should have done.

Its possible there is more to this but I would hope whoever follows up with an investigation looks into this and does a better job than that officer appeared to do.

Until the Body Cam is released all anyone can do is Armchair quarterback...I'm sure they will release it quickly to avoid fake news outlets like the washington post from making up their own stories.
