This may be a 'have to add' addition to my collection. It fits a nice little niche gap.

For plinking, I have my Ruger slab-side MkII 22.
For carry, I have my Colt commander 45ACP
For "house cleaning" I have my Winchester Defender 12 Ga.

At my age that is about all I need, Gave the rest of my guns to my son.

I've gave my son 5 of my handguns, and told him when I'm gone, share the others with his sister.
My Browning Auto-5, 12 gauge is my oldest firearm, bought it in 1969 at Andersen AFB exchange, for $136. Lol
Now a days, the exchange woudn't dare sell a firearm, my Colt commander, I bought as a young COP in the 70's, I sold it, and in 2017, I got it back from my oldest's Godfather.
I had to rebuild it, due to it being in poor shape, it was nickle plated but I had to have it cerakoted.

SGT (Join to see) - You did a good job on that Colt.

BTW, the Exchange still sells firearms.

MSG Stan Hutchison - No, I think in the 70s or 80s, firearms had been forbiden for sale in the exchanges, as well as ammo. The Ariforce still today, has its wild boar hunting in Andersen AFB, Bow or Shotgun only, deer are shot by a team to clear the runways.

I think it depends a lot on where you live and what you're watching out for that makes 223 a pleasure to have around.
