So with all the demographic blocks in America that need jobs, his priority is to refugees.

National Unemployment Rate 4.7%
Just a sample, unemployment among:
Black youth age 16-19 36%
Unmarried Females ages 55-65 11.3%
Single Mothers 11.2%
Female Veterans 8.9%

I'll be getting my coffee from the gas station.

Maj John Bell - so what you're really saying is that even if you loved the idea of hiring refugees, you would still be getting your coffee at a gas station anyway. But that statement did make you seem like you were taking a principled stand. Well played. ;)

In 2013 starbucks announced a program to hire 10,000 veterans over 5 years. To date they have hired 8800. But somehow that gets left off the latest outrage. Also, the refugee hiring is globally, not in the US alone. The fact is that vets can apply for any open position at stores like these. But many, just like many other Americans, realize they can't pay their bills or support their families on minimum wage jobs that don't pay enough to get over the poverty level. So they decide to not apply and keep waiting for a better opportunity.

A friend of mine is third generation orange grove owner in FL. At the height of the last recession I asked him about his work force. He said that they were entirely hispanic, probably half legal and half using fake documents. I asked him if he got many white US citizens looking for jobs since the conservatives always say the immigrants are stealing Americans jobs and he laughed. He said he has never had a white US citizen apply to work in his orange groves. He said they wouldn't consider working that hard for those wages.

So let's not pretend that all those people listed in the demographics are all willing to apply for any job available at any wage. It just isn't true.

Good point, It appears that is true and from what i've seen many of these immigrants esp from countries in Central or South America are very hard workers and a lot work two low paying jobs just to keep a roof over their head and feed their families. Often they have no skills to offer other than willingness to work hard. A smaller number that have technical or professional skill may compete on the job market but then many of those have no reason to leave where they live if they are already doing well. The larger number seem to be unskilled workers. In all honesty I would never take one of those jobs either, never been that desperate.

LTC (Join to see) So, if you friend with the Orange Grove could not find enough legal labor willing to work at poverty wages, would he raise his wages high enough to get legal labor, or would he let the oranges fall and rot on the ground?

The way immigration laws seem to be progressing, if Trump is successful at returning manufacturing jobs to the U.S., then they will be mostly filled with low-wage refugee workers.

Kudos to you LTC (Join to see) . The truth is that many follow the trend of complaining & refuses to find the facts. What's worst is when the truth evolves, they find another venue to complain to instead of educating others. Thank you for your comments.
