The young lieutenant must be extraordinarily proud to have a grandfather who served in WWII be present at her commissioning. I know how proud I was to pin my daughter at hers. A great post ... and it doesn't matter when the event actually occurred. Some things are timeless ... and this is one of them.

Thank you for your response! I thought it showed such respect and honor when the Grandfather requested permission to salute the "First LT" - His own Granddaughter.
