I'd love a cannon in my living room, I highly doubt my Fiancee would feel the same... might have to paint it pink in order for her to go with it.

I think Mr Owens stated it very well, maybe we should make Congress and the Media take a class given by him. Yes, there are people who have their own Tanks, which if you purchase from the Army are demilled, but those are things that you can always find someone who knows how to fix that easily enough. PT boats are still running around (saw one on Hammacher Schlemmacher for sale a year ago for 1 Mill). So I for one agree, the only limitation of your purchase should be your pocketbook, and your ability to pass the basic background check (they don't do much, but they do help and the 3 day cool off is not a bad idea either). Because the fact is that bad guys can still get around those 2 pet pieces of liberal thinking, and buy guns off the street for way less than they will usually cost us at the store. and police are not everywhere, as Sheriff Clark told the people of Milwalkee, YOU are your best defender and are on your own for anywhere from 2 minutes to ?? because of officer availability.
I will agree the liklyhood of someone owning AND MANNING an Aircraft carrier is extreamly low, if they are for the USA, then more power to them.

Going a little overboard on the discussion. How many people could afford an Aircraft Carrier and the planes to man it with. Other than that the second amendment does no prohibit it.

Well the Lib's had to run to the extreme end of the topic.
Heck not many countries can afford to build and maintain a true aircraft carrier.
Sorry Helo Carriers do not count in my book of Aircraft Carriers.

Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should do it. There are a lot of gun advocates out there who shouldn't be allowed near sharp objects. Who is to protect society from those who are not able to make that decision

And in gunless society's only the criminals have guns. So what's the point. Check out Switzerland where you are required to own a gun. Last I checked there were no limits on type.
