@PO1 William "Chip" Nagel just after I got out of the Navy, before I got a job, I was staying with my parents. They had a courtyard in front of their house that I set up as a mini haunted house. I sat on a bail of hay outside in the courtyard wearing a hooded robe with a scythe and the candy bowl. I would sit perfectly still waiting for the kids to come up to see if it was a decoration, then I would whisper "boo" and they would scream everytime. Some of the parents really didn't appreciate it, but it was in the spirit. Glad it was years ago, nowadays someone would have called the cops.

When my boys were trick-or-treaters we went to a neighbors house. There twenty something son decorated there front yard as a graveyard. There was a wrought iron settee by the front door with a body sitting on it. As my ten-year old approached the door the body stood up with a boo. Thought my son was going to go home and change his undies.

Some people just don't get into the fun of things like this.
