Sooner or later he will pay for his crimes. I wish him nothing but despair and heartache, that he never finds peace and that he remains a pariah to society. He chose to violate the warrior code. His actions were the proximate cause of death to his fellow soldiers. Bergdahl - that name will now live in infamy with the likes of Benedict Arnold. An AMERICAN DESERTER AND TRAITOR that is not fit to walk on the same side of the street as his former comrades in arms.

LTC Orlando Illi, the judge failed in his duties as did Bergdahl. He should be removed from the bench.

I'll go one further, he should be removed from the service. Wearing that uniform after that decision is disrespectful to all who have served and died while wearing it.

The decision for his sentencing is one of the worst I have ever witnessed in my lifetime. That colonel is a disgrace to the uniform he wears.

It would be interesting to read something on the thought process that went into this decision. His treatment by the enemy was a result of his desertion and well deserved. This should have been punishment for his action. A DD should have been in addition to a long vacation at Ft. Leavenworth.

Bergdahl is anathema. Nothing bad enough can happen to him. I hope he suffers indignities and is ostracized for the rest of his miserable life.
