Right now what we have is an accusation. Nothing more. If he did what he is being accused of he will be in trouble. The accusations are close enough to the election there is no way it can be resolved/cleared up etc. The evidence is likely scant as this supposedly happened 40 years ago. Moore has been in the court system in Alabama for decades. Why no accusation then?
If it is demonstrated he did what he is accused of he will have to resign (should he win). I am not sure a charge can even be filed as I think the statute of limitations might have come and gone, so how do you resolve this accusation?
Does he get destroyed because someone levels an accusation 40 years later that cannot be proven (he does not have to disprove it). A criminal charge cannot be filed because of the statute of limitations. So how do we resolve this? Is it fair that his life is destroyed over it? If that is the standard, any time a person levels a charge any time from the past, the sitting person would need to resign. That is a standard no one would want leveled against them.

This is a political hit job. The judge has been in public office for over 20 years. It is too convenient that this allegation has come out now. Did the alleged victim go to the Police or to the media? And a reporter happened to overhear a conversation? Its just all too convenient. Then McConnell comes out and says Mr. Moore must remove himself from the election. Lets call it what it is- a political hit job by the establishment.

I think they should postpone the election and do a proper investigation. This whole thing at this point is suspicious for timing and numbers.
If true, the truth will come out. If it is a Democrat ploy, then heads should appropriately roll.
The truth will set you free...it is somewhere waiting to be found. It is not fair or the American way to persecute before we prosecute. He is still innocent until found otherwise.

It's not the Washington Post they don't believe.....it's the Alabama women that came forward......they are choosing not to believe them.

Oh, I'm pretty sure it's the Washington Post they don't believe. If they don't believe the women, it's because their stories are being used by the Washington Post. That said, if CNN or MSNBC came out with the same story, the response (or lack of it) would probably be about the same. It's a trick people have seen too many times -- think Anita Hill or Dan Rather.
The sad fact is that if the women's stories are true, they won't be believed by the people that matter as long as their stories are being conveyed by news agencies that have so thoroughly damaged their own reputations.

Here's a thought, Cpl Mcc.....those women didn't come forward on their own in all these years, and didn't come out now on their own either..... reporters were down there covering the campaign, and people that knew, told them to check with those ladies because there was a story there. Once they were questioned about it, they told their stories about what happened. Why not sooner, and on their own? You're looking at the reason.....they are all being called liars. Moore is a well known and powerful man in Alabama.....and as such, feels like he can do whatever he wants.....and get away with it. Just like what Trump said on the Access Hollywood tape....."I can do whatever I want."

MSG Joseph Cristofaro - The one that went in front of the cameras and told her story today explained that. She feared him at the time of the event. She was afraid if she told, he would do something to harm either her or her family. She seemed pretty credible......and was very detailed about what occurred. That's the thing about abuse claims.......once someone breaks the ice and tells her story, anyone else that has a story to tell finds the courage to step forward too. It's like opening the flood gate. It happened to a guy at my place of employment......he got away with it for awhile.....then someone put through a formal complaint. Before long.......several others came forward......and that guy was toast. He proclaimed his innocence too, until the evidence against him just became overwhelming. I think that's the place that Moore finds himself in right now.

I realize not every accusation turns out to have merit.....but when you have several come forward....and they all relate things very similar to what the others have said (establishing an MO if you will), is it not more likely to be true than false? Here's a tidbit that goes to credibility: Moore said he didn't know her, and didn't even know this restaurant he was supposed to have frequented where she worked. Then she produced the passage in her yearbook where he signed it....and mentioned the restaurant in the passage. So who is the liar?
