The army can hire some runway models, have a fashion show they take on the road every year to show off the new threads. It would be awesome.

Great another $600-$700 dress uniform for JR enlisted SMs to spend their 300 dollars a year clothing stipend on. Support or S shop soldiers may be able to "save" that stipend over the years, but combat arms will go through at least a pair of boots a year, especially in a light unit. They can also go through two or three uniforms a year depending on their training or deployment cycle. On top of that PT shoes need replaced at least once a year as well. That stipend isn't there so the military can experiment with dog and pony show uniforms. That stipend is there to keep soldiers in serviceable boots and uniforms. Someone needs to find the good idea fairy and put him/her down.

I worked for an agency which changed uniforms 3 times in 20 years and provided an annual and initial allowance of $70.00 footwear was not included ever. If there are significant changes to meet safety or serviceability yes any thing else no. No one should have to eat the cost or change just for the sake of change.

SPC Dave Loeffler - Oh sure, if there's a uniform that comes out that will stop bullets Ill buy it in a heart beat with a whole paycheck haha, but if the purpose is to look pretty Ill file a supply request and tell my CoC that I'm broke and shrug my shoulders

That uniform will be payed with an special pay, that will be added to your normal pay. This way nobody would be affected. All of this matter was very good explained,a couple of weeks ago,by the SMA.
The actual ASU will stayed, like the Marines do,for very formal ocassions, where a more etiquette and serious attire should be used.

This is part of the overall plan for getting America back to work. Think of the jobs that will be created to design, make, and sell these new uniforms. Additionally new features can be added as technology develops new materials.

LTC (Join to see), as much as I wish they would, it won't happen! A pair of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets senior boots (as you've shown) may cost as much as $1,600! The cost of the sabre is included.

LTC Stephen C. - And again, we are stimulating the economy. Now we are including the beef cattle producers, hide tanners, and boot makers. It's a win, win, win.

Did I mention that I can get you custom made boots for about $1,000. What a deal I have for you.

Well, LTC (Join to see), since I'm retired, I'll pass on the boots purchase. Also, I think my Auburn Tigers took care of the Aggies at Kyle Field a few weeks ago, and not one of our seniors was wearing boots!

LTC Stephen C. - I am not an Aggie and don't follow sports. I do ride horses though and love boots.
