If a woman with all her original parts wants to be treated like a man, but then gets pregnant, does the military still treat her as a man or as a woman? What physical fitness standards apply to a man who wants to be treated as a woman or a woman who wants to be treated as a man? Is there a time limit on how long someone must act like the opposite sex? Can a person change their preferred sex everyday or whenever they feel like it? If a normal man tells a dirty joke to a man who later prefers to be treated like a woman, can they charge the normal man with sexual harassment? I can go on.

I have stated this time and time again. Per the training every service received in the last year...whatever gender marker is in DEERS is what that servicemember has to follow for regulations. So if someone has a male gender marker in DEERS after transitioning from female that person follows male regulations and standards. If a male transitions to female and the gender marker in DEERS states female they will follow female standards and regulations.

If someone transitions while in the military the whole process takes about a year. They cannot start following male or female standards until the marker changes in DEERS but they are allowed to start transitioning, on approval from a medical professional I think their PCM, on off duty hours before it's officially changed in DEERS.

So your example - if someone transitioned from female to male and enlists as a male, they are under male regulations and standards. If a FTM hasn't had reassignment surgery and were to get pregnant, I would assume they treat it as any other pregnancy. What else are they going to do? Say "no we will not give you any treatment because you're a male now?" C'mon.

No you cannot change your preferred sex "every day." I'm so tired of seeing that ignorant statement. See above about the training we got.

You do realize sexual harassment doesn't only apply to women right? A man can accuse another man of sexual harassment. It does happen. I can't believe some of what I just read.

Entire process is crazy. So, someone cannot be treated at the opposite sex until the computer systems says its OK? If it takes an year to be treated like the opposite sex, then why not prolong it to four years or longer? What is magic about one year? If a woman wants to be treated like a man and it takes any year, then what happens if she gets pregnant a day after she is officially registered as a man? Will she have to wait another year for DEERS to reclassify her as a woman? Baby would be born, and she then will want to be considered a man, which will take another year. What physical fitness standard does pregnant woman who thinks she is a man have to follow?

Basic point is why must the military spend so much time, money, and resources on such a few people when there is no shortage of recruits who do not have a mental disease?

SSgt Addison R. - Unnecessary expense and unneeded allocation of valuable resources to deal with very few people with a mental illness is all of our problems. The military wastes enough money, why add to it? What exactly makes "transgender" persons so important to warrant all this attention?

I am very concerned about the medical implications of this decision if this is true.
