Now if the also do it for the Democrats, then all is well, I think it should be visited across our nation to stop it period.

Absolutely do it everywhere, the Democrats are every bit as guilty of this in the states/areas where they have a majority in government.

As usual, my question is how would you suggest laying out Congressional Districts? Since leadership in each state changes, they are modified on occasion. It’s a bit of an academic discussion because the politicians will never change the process.

First think I'd do is have an independent commission to draw up the districts (I like the idea of using retired judges).

Criteria would be based primarily on geography (use natural or logical barriers to delineate where districts borders are) and secondarily based on socioeconomic factors such as income averages or types of housing (i.e. mostly apartments or mostly houses).

I always appreciate your stepping up when asked. However, much of what you stated is in place today. Between the VRA and state rules have independent commissions, most of your suggestions are in place. When they cross the line, the SCOTUS intervenes. But, admittedly both parties bend the laws and regulations.

MCPO Roger Collins - Well respectfully I believe if the ideas I suggested were in place you'd never see congressional districts anything like like Maryland's 3rd (gerrymandered by Democrats to marginalize Republicans) or Texas 35th (gerrymandered by Republicans to marginalize Democrats)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maryland%27s_3rd_congressional_district
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas%27s_35th_congressional_district

Or on a state level the California Senate districts which are a hot mess to ensure that Democrats have a comfortable supermajority in Sacramento and can whatever the heck they want in a state where the electorate leans only slightly left of center.

Apparently you didn’t understand my post or I wasn’t clear. But, again, thanks for the replies.
