Before you go off on how bad sexual assault/harassment is and how it shouldn't be trivialized, no one (at least not me) will argue that point. What is argued and sometimes with a valid point is SHARP training in some units and across the military spectrum is based solely off the man vs woman concept. It places the burden of proof instantly on the man, and even if proven false, your career will not survive much like a child abuse charge. Sexual harassment/assault is NOT a man vs woman thing. It's much less reported but can be/is a man/man, woman/woman. I think SHARP training should reflect that fact along with man/woman equally, and not make it so that to be in a room with a woman, you feel that you have to have the entire BDE with you to ensure that nothing is interpreted wrong, or that she could spin it a different way. That is not unit cohesion, that is military destruction from within. We should be able to talk with the opposite sex (or same sex) and not feel every word has to be measured to save yourself

I think this is the first time I have agreed to one of your posts. SHARP training has its purpose but in my experience as a battalion commander it has been manipulated to punish someone without corroboration. And it is not male to female only. I had a junior female soldier file a SHARP complaint on a senior female NCO. The Division SHARP Rep was completely put off guard because she had only been trained on male to female complaints. In the end it's all bad. No one wins.

The real losers in this are those valid complaints who are now afraid to come forward due to fear of ridicule being they've seen or known someone who has either been accused falsely and sent packing, or accused and the charge not followed through. SHARP should not be used as a "weapon" to get "even". It's a tool used to weed out the worst of the worst that plague the military through the use of rank or position to abuse that power in a sexual manner on subordinates. There is no "safe zone" in my Army or anyone's military for them.

SSG Warren Swan - like any good thing, it can be used and abused for ill intent. If anything, there should be some form of punishment for abusing the program (if proven that the intent was malicious).

For example, what the fuck happens to women who falsely file complaints on men because they know the climate in the military is so fucking bad that their accuser will get punished with no evidence. I understand why a lot of people have mixed feelings, but that will not stop me from being honest with these videos. Most soldiers don’t have platforms to speak about these type of issues that plague the Armed Forces. However, I Do. All day everyday. Tired of men being treated like fucking sexual criminals automatically based on their gender".

Aziz Ansari is a great example of how it should play out. Woman accuses him of being an evil sex dude, and everyone reads the account and is like sit the hell down girl.

I read some on him. It seemed weird, possible, but he handled it better than most. He didn't attack her personally, but gave a simple and reasonable explanation of his side. That's how it should be, but that wouldn't fly in todays military climate. Someone will pay, and it should be the RIGHT person, not someone just to get the process over with.
No one should be scared of the repercussions of SHARP unless your ass is guilty of it. If it comes back substantiated, your ass needs to be spending some quality time in one of our many for-profit resorts that allow you to be with your peers, and not with the rest of America who don't play that game. Visitation starts at 0800.....
