Great editorial. trump seems, to me, to be the antithesis of Evangelicals would want in an elected official. I am not religious and he is the antithesis of what I want in an elected official.

I could write a short essay detailing all my counter points, but instead, I'll ask a simple question and hope for an honest answer:

I don't profess to know anyone's heart but if Saul, on the road to Damascus, a persecutor and torturer of Christendom, could be changed in a moment, then anything is possible. Saul/Paul was the most prolific writer of new testament books and one of the greatest apostles of the church. If Saul could be changed, so could Trump. I know the left does not believe in redemption of the holy type but it is possible and has happened.
1st Corinthians 26-29
Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him.

MAJ Eugene Chu, MBA - Do you know that he has not confessed his sin? I don't. I was clear I don't know anyone's heart. You seem far more sure you do. Paul spent time in prison for his faith. The analogy is not about prison time it is about God's ability to change anyone's heart in a moment. If you don't at least acknowledge the possibility then you underestimate God's sovereign power. Again, I am not saying it did happen but it could happen.
