I know we used ours to dig fighting holes (with overhead cover) during operations in the Central Highlands of Vietnam, ours by the way had the old fashioned wooden handle ,these new whipper snappers seem flimsy ?

All good points IMHO. However, during my field time, the most frequent use of my E-tool was as a seat over a field latrine. I can’t squat for crap (pun intended), so I learned as a CAP cadet in the 60s to fold the blade to pickaxe mode and sit on my left cheek to accomplish the mission without falling into the target.
