Benjamin Oliver Davis Sr. (1880 – November 26, 1970) was a United States Army officer. He became the first African-American to rise to the rank of Brigadier General in the U.S. military in 1940. He was the father of Air Force General Benjamin O. Davis Jr.

I did know that His father had rose to the rank of Brigadier General. Benjamin O. David Jr. certainly came from good stock and did quite well in His own right. The Military History of Benjamin O. Davis Senior from the early American Volunteers, to the Cavalry Buffalo soldier right up to WWII is very impressive ! Talk about experiencing History ! I didn't know the details of Davis Senior's Military though up until this posting. Thanks for an excellent post !
