Again as I have stated, the F-35 has been a boondoggle. Billions and billions of dollars for an aircraft that has yet to see combat. What happens when we face a nation like China that can mass produce their jets & accrue a 20 to 1 advantage in fighter jets? Think we'll still have air superiority then?

We won WWII on the backs of our industrial/military supply system by mass producing ships, planes & tanks & overwhelming our opponents in sheer numbers they couldn't match. We should have gone for the incremental solution- F-15 Silent Eagle or even the SAAB Gripen-E/F variant, a very capable multi-role aircraft, that has stealth technology that works today, not years from now:

The Jas - 39 needs to be able to use the link 16 system. From what I've read, it can't. Though I know the F-35 and the F-22 have to use the global hawk to communicate to those planes who have the link 16 system.

Nice post, MSgt Cayle Harris. I have to wonder what the guys they DIDN'T interview said. I'm sure the pilots from Luke AFB that suffered from hypoxia might not share the glowing recommendations.

Thanks for the fantastic article. It appears the advantage of the F-35 is cloaking, jamming, and first to see and fire.
