This is nuts, just another unnecessary expense for the tax-payers to absorb.

PO2 Rick Fox - honestly if they would ask the end user what they want- and stop letting the upper echelon that do not "work" in hangers, flight lines, shop offices, etc. I know my ABUs make it hard to find me everyday- I fit into an urban environ with tiger stripes.....

I think the move to the OCP is the right move. It is replacing the ABU and ACU, which were both designed with the intent of being functional in the field and in garrison, but were proven to be ineffective at best. IMHO, I think the "every branch needs their own uniform" thing should end. Separate service uniforms, got it, but the functional stuff that we use day to day should be the same across the board (I know the Marines would never go for this, so it is a moot point).

Honestly, the OCP looks more professional, wears better than the ABU, is more comfortable than the ABU, and reduces the number of uniforms a member would need to maintain.

It isn't replacing the ACU. It is a pattern of the ACU.

You are now several iterations past where I came in and then left. We had blue work uniforms, replaced by green fatigues, then female specific fatigues, then BDUs, female BDU, Desert Camo when appropriate and the blue fatigues or whatever they called them were in the works. Could we stop that already? The latest ones look pretty good, let's stick to that except for desert environments at least for a while?
