The same unnamed White House official said in a statement: "The President endorses the After Action Review undertaken by FEMA in the wake of the historic 2017 disaster season and the Administration has already implemented many of the recommendations from the review."

I was sick with worry when Maria hit PR. I have a retired Army brother there and didn't hear from him for 3 months. Luckily, he is alive and well.

President Donald Trump denied this reality as a hurricane barrels toward the Carolinas.
"3000 people did not die in the two hurricanes that hit Puerto Rico. When I left the Island, AFTER the storm had hit, they had anywhere from 6 to 18 deaths. As time went by it did not go up by much. Then, a long time later, they started to report really large numbers, like 3000," he said in a tweet Thursday morning as Carolinians prepared to be pummeled by Hurricane Florence.
