I hope they catch and bring the criminal to justice. As much as I disagree with Mr Soros, I will also defend his rights to life and liberty.

What will not be surprising is I bet you do catch the person that did it and that person is brought before the world for all to see. This person will be vilified by the media and the public but not one person that Soros' organizations has funded for rioting, destruction of property, and breaking numerous laws will ever receive will be treated that way.

I think this is wrong and I hope they catch the person that did it and hold them to the fullest extent of the law. HOWEVER, I disagree with your comment about not being surprised. He has fueled hate and discourse and riots all over the US and the world. Not right to come back at him because two wrongs don't make it right but I am not surprised.

Lt Col Scott Shuttleworth - Fair enough. I just kind of think that the latest one is the one you really fall under.
Also, I think it's an interesting question as to WHY they are different. I don't think it's an oversight that the Officer Oath is different.

I don't know...good question. I thinkthe enlisted oath was ther to leave no room for whos orders you will obey. However, I think as officers we are to obey those above us as orders are handed down. We don't question unless it is illegal or unethical to carry out those orders and as the President of the United States he is the the CINC and by default we carry out those orders directed down from him or her in the future maybe.

This was agood explanation..the officers oath is that way sothat wa don't swear allegiance to an individual but to an ideal etc...read the article it is a good run down IMHO.

The difference between Oath of Office, Oath of Enlistment
Warrant Officer Hugh Thompson willingly disobeyed a commander’s orders and even threatened to open fire on American troops when he saved the lives of at least 10 Vietnamese civilians during the My Lai

Lt Col Scott Shuttleworth - Yeah, that's pretty much exactly how I feel about it. Officers don't swear to a person, or even an office, but only to the Constitution. THAT's how I read my oath (even though I did, originally, also take the Enlisted oath back in the day - I feel that one is subsumed by the Commissioned Oath).

He hardly spoke of the attempts on his own life and others with the ricin attack. Let's not get oversensitive, especially when the news just dropped today.

MAJ Bryan Zeski - From the White house: “We condemn the attempted violent attacks recently made against President Obama, President Clinton, Secretary Clinton, and other public figures. These terrorizing acts are despicable, and anyone responsible will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. The United States Secret Service and other law enforcement agencies are investigating and will take all appropriate actions to protect anyone threatened by these cowards,” she said, joined by President Trump and Vice President Pence, who at a separate event said those responsible will be "brought to justice."

MSG Stan Hutchison - Nope. They can't even agree on things they have both agreed on in the past when it comes to reforming immigration laws.
