Over the past year, Ethiopia has stunned the world with its democratic reforms and warming relationship with neighboring Eritrea. The two countries have formally ended their 20-year conflict and reopened land crossings to allow people and goods to move freely between them. Now, a big question fills the air in the region: Will the dramatic transformation in Ethiopia spread to Eritrea, which is often referred to as the North Korea of Africa?

Lets hope some of the Freedom that Ethiopia has found can spread. The people who often best understand the value of Freedom is those that have lost it then gained freedom. They know what it is to live in fear and without their liberties and appreciate the freedom to a far greater extent once they can actually live in a free society. When any government either hasn't or has lost the concept of working for their citizens and not themselves freedom can easily be lost if it allowed to.
