UPFRONT No amount of money would be "Enough" to violate the trust of a brother and kill him.
But knowing the kinds of money in these funds I can guesstimate, they killed Melgar over chump change// perhaps enough to buy a new HD, or build on to the house a new garage.
Ive had the stacks of bills in my hands, the cardboard boxes of cash, the duffel bags full of bills in my office in my control...you could take some and get away with it...but its chump change.
I think we will find post trial it was the being outed that turned the group to murder a fellow service member. Spineless men....not just for the stealing of funds, but to fail so miserable at accepting responsibility for their actions so as to kill a fellow brother in arms over it.

“The Post reported Wednesday that through a stipulation of facts document it obtained and verified that not only were the two Navy SEALs and two Marine Raiders going to assault, duct tape and video record the illegal hazing of Melgar, but that they also planned to have a Malian man who was present sexually assault the 34-year-old staff sergeant on video.”
Good lord. These guys deserve the worst.
