MAJ Bryan Zeski - 22 months is a long time, and totally amounts to 488 pages.
If the Trump team had colluded with Russia, then no amount of encumberances on the Presidency would matter. He's a Russian agent! VP Pence would be hearing "Hail to the Chief" within days.
Except he isn't. Of course he isn't.

But I suppose we could go through the gymnastics here. The reader will find what they want to find. Does that get you to Impeachment? Up to the US House of Representatives.
Does that pass the House? Maybe, but I sincerely doubt it. Does a trial in the Senate get to the removal threshold of 67 Senators?
LOL, nope,
So how long do we play out the string?
Like I said, do it the old-fashioned way - at the ballot box.
All the Dems' super awesome ideas will surely persuade a majority of voters, right?
RIGHT?

This was never a Counter Intelligence Investigation. We have Agencies that are working 24/7 on CI and they could have easily de-briefed Congress in a closed session as to the 5Ws of the election. They were noticeably absent while political pundits executed a political surveillance program on a political figure period .1SG (Join to see)

1SG (Join to see) - I think you've highlighted very nicely one of the problems we have in impeachment of ANY President: once you get to Congress, it becomes a partisan issue. If the Dems were in firm control of the Senate, POTUS would be a sitting duck, but because they don't, he's fine. That's not any kind of justice - regardless of who is in control of Congress. That's partisan justice and is an affront to our values and is exactly what Washington warned us about:

"The alternate domination of one faction over another... leads to... formal and permanent despotism... and ruins of Public Liberty."

(Full quote below)

"The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge, natural to party dissension, which in different ages and countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself a frightful despotism. But this leads at length to a more formal and permanent despotism. The disorders and miseries, which result, gradually incline the minds of men to seek security and repose in the absolute power of an individual; and sooner or later the chief of some prevailing faction, more able or more fortunate than his competitors, turns this disposition to the purposes of his own elevation, on the ruins of Public Liberty.

Without looking forward to an extremity of this kind, (which nevertheless ought not to be entirely out of sight,) the common and continual mischiefs of the spirit of party are sufficient to make it the interest and duty of a wise people to discourage and restrain it."

Side note: I was never big on the collusion bandwagon for POTUS himself - his people? Probably in an outside way. Was his campaign opposed to getting help from the Russians (or anyone else for that matter)? No. But, they were smart enough to know that putting anything in writing that directly linked them to Russia would be a bad idea. These are people who are well known for skirting laws and rules - they have a lifetime of experience doing so.

MAJ Bryan Zeski - The framers made impeachment hard on purpose in order to make it difficult for a partisan prosecution to succeed. They were wise to do so.
But the Dems own the House by a pretty wide margin.
Betcha they can't pass Articles of Impeachment right now.
Because the whole thing is predicated on bullshit, made up by a campaign in order to tar the opponent. Somehow, that became this mess. Now I don't know how they can proceed without some very uncomfortable and extra-Constitutional facts coming out.

My opinion: this is giant game of chicken.
The dems will try and keep this alive up to the election in 2020. They pretty much have to - their policy proposal are abysmal, unpopular, and likely to put their party in the wilderness for awhile if they aren't smart,
I think the old guard is smart. I think the new freshmen are borderline politically retarded.
It will come down to who drives the bus, Right now, that is Nancy Pelosi.
I predict significant internal turmoil in the Democratic Caucus if this continues. And that will screw them in 2020.
Book it.

His reaction when told a special counsel had been appointed tells you everything you need to know: "End of my presidency. I'm f***ed!"......not the words of an innocent man.
