I am intrigued with genealogy. It is interesting to see people of the same origin split off to new lands and become distinct in many ways. Considering the violence of human history, I would not be surprised if the Neanderthals were killed into extinction.

The question is, what were the Neanthetals? Clearly they were not in the group of humans. If they were not, were this group classified as animals. According to many religious scriptures, the differences between Humans and animal is the capacity to reasoning and the unique capacity is believing in a higher prover, which according to many religions is why humans have a soul. This subject could very well be one very interesting college class to take.
