Good Red Friday morning RP. Today's Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) is titled "The Planet and the Pipe." Jupiter is near the top of the frame in this colorful telephoto portrait of the central Milky Way. The scene also includes the silhouette of Pipe Nebula, part of the galaxy's Ophiuchus dark cloud complex. Here, dense cores of gas and dust within are collapsing to form stars. Jupiter reaches opposition with the Sun on June 12th.

Good Morning Maj William W. 'Bill' Price, I have to say......You come up with the coolest pictures of space. Kind of looks like a cloudy day in space....Do they have days?

Good morning Alan K.. Telephoto zooms into the Milky Way can look pretty cloudy. Days exist on a 24 hour clock. Otherwise, one might say "a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day" (2 Pt 3:8, NIV). Have a good one.
