Russia has reportedly deployed 4 anti-satellite weapons in space recently. The devices are stated to be capable of inspecting and repairing other satellites, however speculation exists as to whether this is their real mission. Possible configurations could include devices like directed-energy weapons (lasers), kinetic weapons (guns), and espionage equipment to compromise enemy satellites.

It turns out the SDI or star wars programs Reagan called for were worked on in spite of the mockery. Now it looks more reasonable to think we will have effective programs and systems.

SPC Angela Burnham we did a test a few years ago where we used a shipboard missile to knock out one of our defunct satellites. Test was successful.

Maybe Trump is coalescing our capabilities into a coherent SDI and finishing the work Reagan began. Maybe he is a more visionary leader than we are giving him credit for.
