USCG have "Health Services Technicians", but everyone calls them Corpsman. The main reason for the new name is that in the CG these ratings take care of all health needs, include dental care. USCG does not have a medical corps. Any doctors, nurses, dentist, or other professional health care personnel come from the US Public Health Service. They wear USCG uniforms, but have USPHS bling.
USCG floating units do not carry doctors. Medium endurance and high endurance cutters carry a single Corpsman. Health care aboard ship is obviously different than on the ground. Ships have the ability to carry x-ray machines, burn tubs, large medicine cabinets, isolated sick bay, and surgical tools and facilities. Aboard ship, the injured are taken to Sick Bay. The Corpsman stays in Sick Bay. Canvas litters are dispersed around a ship. Rigid frame litters are not used due to the confined space. The injured is strapped on the litter to keep them on the litter when lowering through hatches.
First photo is USCGC Mackinaw sick bay. Second photo is not CG, but shows how canvas litters are used.

I was an 8404/0000 and once did medical support for an Army Unit's annual land nav training. Couldn't get them to stop calling me Sarge.
