That is the nastiest most bad A plane the Air Force has ever owned besides the F-4.

CPL Dave Hoover - Somewhat agree on the F-15 if it is the E model which is Air to Ground. The reason I love the F-4 so much is it had so many variants. Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses, Search and Destory, Electronic warfare and radar jamming, air to air, air to ground and it couldn't be destroyed. Awesome airframe. My brother used to fly the F-15E. He loved it and I used to ask him when he was going to fly a real airplane and quit toying around...he wreaked havoc in the gulf though...you probably saw some of his handiwork on TV after 9-11. Here are a few of his pics. One of them he is on the cover of Airman magazine. He is now retired and owns a CBD store in South Carolina.

No doubt about that! Just need to remember that it was designed and built to be a Soviet tank killer. The CAS mission we love it for today was a second birth so to speak.

PO3 Bob McCord - My husband was RTO and routinely called in F-4s for close ground support. He especially was impressed when the pilot would come in, then pull the bird straight up while hitting the afterburner...which caught the jungle on fire. He has a real affection for those birds...and the Hueys.
Our nephew did seven tours in Sandbox East and West (Army, 82nd Airborne). He loved the A-10 over all the other birds. As he said, nothing could come in as close and take out the enemy like an A-10 could, especially over mountainous areas, like the Khyber Pass. He also would call in for air support and specifically requested A-10s because he knew they could do the job much better.

PO3 Bob McCord - One time hubby called back to the F4 pilot and asked if he was smoking a Camel or a Marlboro because he came in that close to the deck. Response: Lucky Strike. LOL!!
